I focus on several special areas:

Gold Leaf and Gilded Items

1. Gold leaf conservation and preservation. Often times, old gilded objects can be cleaned. Over paint, dirt, nicotene, surface grime can be removed, allowing the beauty of a gilded object to be seen once again.

2. Sensitive regilding. I often regild items in specific places where leaf has been lost due to abrasion, poor handling, overzealous cleaning. I carefully match new gold for colour.

3. Gilding using historic techniques and materials. I gild the same way and use the same materials as the original object. I can water gild in various styles, depending upon period and where an item was made.

4. Correct surface and patination. Old surfaces look different than new ones. They are soft, show signs of wear, sometimes are cracked, crazed, and have patina and age. I pride myself on being sensitive in my treatments and reaspect these features. I am able to reproduce and match my new work to that of the original.

Patterns & Mould Making

1. Reproduction of missing elements and details. I am able to recreate items by making moulds from existing fragments or by machinging, carving, bench running, and sculpting them.

2. Mould Making. I make master moulds designed for specific needs. Whether it is for cast stone, plaster, or synthetics, I can match the correct materials for the job.

3. Castings. I work in many different materials. Depending on the final useage, I can formulate the correct material for the project.

Bench Run Plaster. I make plaster crowns and moulding the old fashioned way.

1. Creating templates and sleds. I match profiles fro your site or specifications and make templates to match.

2. Running fibrous plaster. I make 8 foot sections (or "runs") layer after layer of plaster on my true bench to create extremely accurate profiles.
