I usually ship from 5 to 15 packages a week - this is just a hobby, so not huge volume! I average 18% in fees - anywhere I've checked to consign is a minimum of 20% and usually upwards of 35% or more. PLUS, I'd have to drive 90 miles to get there. So I'm not sure what there is to complain about eBay's fees. As a small dealer, I get my first 50 listings a month free. They don't charge photos fees anymore for up to 12 photos. I don't like to pay fees on the shipping, BUT, there again, I'm still averaging less than if I was consigning. PLUS, only doing consignment/bricks & mortar stores limits you to the people that walk in that door that week. On eBay, I feel people usually know what they're looking for and they pinpoint you from anywhere! 99% of my sales go to each of the coasts and Texas. Wouldn't get that in a storefront. NOW, please don't anyone be offended by my statements - because there's just nothing that beats browsing through a store looking for just that certain thing that would complete your collection! As a buyer, I personally like to see and touch before I buy and love all the little treasures I find along the way! So . . .
