This super cool cloisonné jar is pretty awesome. It has a crude fu dog for a handle on the lid, and is done with intricate flower pattern. There are no markings though that I can see. This is a very striking piece. It is a long handled Brass Bed Warmer bearing an Oriental design. Pictured here in an antique Chinese Marriage bed, one can easily see that the 10.5 inch diameter warmer, filled with hot liquids or warm solids, would make the bedclothes toasty warm despite the chill outside. This is a pre 1890 handpainted Japanese vase. In 1999 it sold for $125.99. It has since been appraised at $200.00. This was purchased at an estate sale in Tacoma Washington this year. This is a beautifil piece complete with a base and is in perfect condition. It has been well taken care of and the bottom of the vase shows no country of origin thereby making it pre 1890.

This book is about the first expedition to seek the North Ploe by way of the Bering sea. It is a true and accurate account and is a very rare book. This is an outstanding piece of history . . . this Antique Mathushek Square Grand Piano is a rare find, ESPECIALLY in this beautiful condition. In fact, it is a fully restored antique piano that has been restrung with replaced ivories, a keyboard that slides out, and screw-off legs. It has been professionally restored - true to its original design and construction. This piece dates to 1867. The piano is marked, "Antique Mathushek Piano Company Manufacturing, New Haven, Connecticut, Orchestral." The square box of this piece is made of Brazilian Rosewood and the legs are made of Poplar (necessary for carving). These are ornately carved with incredible detail. Interestingly, the original advertisement for this unique square grand piano reads, "rich Rosewood case, improved Agraffe throughout, three strings, four large round corners, back finished like front, rich pearl top and plinth mouldings, heavy carved serpentine, extra rich carved legs and lyre, usual size Square, 6 feet 9 1/2 inches long, 3 feet 4 inches wide." It is titled, "No. 14 - ORCHESTRAL, 7 1-3 OCTAVES. - PRICE $1,000." Our own approximate measurements are 90 inches width, 39 inches depth and 37 inches height.
