The original painting for this engraving was done by Hans Holbein in 1514. In 1756 Pierre Charles Canot made the plate from which this engraving was made. Thomas Allen drew the image and colored it in that year. In the mid-1950's the engraving being offered for sale was re-struck from the original plate and hand-colored at that time in France. It depicts King Henry VIII's greatest warship, "The Great Harry." The colors and condition are excellent. Plate size: 20" x 26", framed: 30" x 36". Contact vendor for shipping quote.
