With anything that has the potential to increase in value due to a public figure attribution, some sort of documentation needs to accompany it. For instance, taking this bag to an authentication service (such as Beckett Grading Services) wouldn’t do any good as they have no manner in which to authenticate the bag. However; having a signed/notarized letter from your husband with as much detail as possible giving the background of the bag’s locale and ownership would add as much value as is possible without the actual owner’s agreement. As far as a value, without the letter it would simply be a bag ($5.00-$10.00 at the very most); however, with a letter of attribution the piece could sell for ten times as much to a Stram collector ($50.00-$100.00).

Seeing how this is a one of a kind item it would be very hard to put an exact price to it. To a serious collector you would need more than just his initials to verify that it did belong to Hank Stram. A letter from the son that he indeed did give it to your husband would probably suffice. If that is not possible, then a buyer would just be buying on faith. I searched a history of Hank Stram items and most sales were for items he had signed and were verified. A personal item like this, although desirable to a collector, is hard to nail down with a price. Having said all that, from what I could tell this would probably fall in the $75.00 to a $100.00 price range. If you could prove the provenance then it might go higher, but the most I saw of anything of his was in the $700.00 range.
