Does anyone know the approximate value of this Mahogony shelf? The wood is in very good condition, the mirror is beveled and the piece measures 29"W x 14"D x 56"H. It has been in our family for many years, but I am thinking about selling it.

This is a gorgeous Art Nouveau Etagere (French for “ornamental shelf”). The mahogany wood is a very nice and commonly-utilized art nouveau period (late 19th & early 20th century) aspect. A beveled mirror is common with etageres, but is key for the value. The only problem with this type of furniture is the safety of having knick-knack collectibles displayed on a shelf that has no doors and is pretty fragile in its own right. This lack of utilization has over time decreased the market for etageres, and even the really fine ones sell for less than $1,000. This particular one should have a realized sale price of $200-$300. For reference’ sake, this is one of the items that less-educated (new-to-the-business) antique dealers would drool over, giving potential for more of a sale price, but no guarantee as nearly everyone has portable internet access to do research these days.
